Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't live near wild places?
The wild isn't just "out there" in pristine wilderness. It's in your backyard, the park down the street, the weeds pushing through sidewalk cracks, and your house plants. This work is about reconnecting with the natural rhythms that live inside you and finding them reflected in whatever nature surrounds you. A single tree outside your window can be your teacher. Your own body is wild terrain.
I'm so busy. How much time does this require?
The practices in this course are designed to fit into real life. We're talking about 5 to 15 minutes most days. The goal isn't to add more to your overwhelmed schedule. It's to help you come back to yourself so you can show up more present in the life you already have. Even one minute of intentional connection with your body or the season counts.
I don't consider myself outdoorsy. Is this course for me?
Absolutely. This isn't about becoming a wilderness expert or doing extreme outdoor activities. It's about remembering that you ARE nature, not separate from it. If you have a body that breathes and feels, you're already connected to natural rhythms. This course simply helps you tune back in to what you've been trained to override.
What if I live somewhere without four distinct seasons?
Seasonal shifts happen most everywhere, just in different ways. Maybe your seasons are wet and dry. Maybe they're marked by subtle temperature changes or shifts in light. The invitations in this course can be adapted to the rhythms of your particular place. What matters is learning to notice and honor the cycles around and within you.
I've tried mindfulness and meditation before and they don't work for me. How is this different?
This isn't about sitting still and emptying your mind. It's somatic work, grounded in your body and the natural world. We work with what's actually present in your nervous system rather than trying to think or breathe your way to calm. The practices are embodied, sensory, and often done while moving or engaging with nature. If traditional meditation felt too heady or disconnected, this offers a different doorway.
Do I need special equipment or outdoor gear?
No. You need yourself, some curiosity, and access to any bit of nature. Most practices can be done in street clothes in your own neighborhood. The point is connection, not performance.
What if I miss sessions or fall behind?
This course is self-paced and yours to return to whenever you need it. The seasonal practices will come around again. Your nervous system doesn't care about perfect completion rates. It cares about consistent, gentle reconnection. Start where you are. Come back when you can. There's no behind.
I work in healthcare and I'm burned out. Will this help?
I created this course from my own experience of healthcare burnout. When you spend your days overriding your body's signals to care for others, you lose connection with your own needs and rhythms. This work teaches you to come home to yourself. It won't fix broken systems, but it will help you find your ground again so you can show up in a more sustainable way.
Can I do this course with a friend or create a group?
Yes. While the practices are personal, sharing the journey with others can deepen the experience. The practices work beautifully in community. Trust yourself to know whether you want to move through this solo or with others.
What if emotions come up during the practices?
That's normal and actually part of the healing. When we slow down enough to feel our bodies, stored emotions often surface. The practices include gentle ways to be with what arises. If you have significant trauma or mental health concerns, this course complements but doesn't replace working with a therapist or healthcare provider.
How is this different from other nature connection or wellness programs?
This course brings together my 20 years of nursing experience with somatic coaching and deep nature connection. It's not wellness culture or spiritual bypassing. It's practical, body-based work rooted in nervous system science and the actual rhythms of the natural world. You already know how to do this. The course simply helps you remember and gives you permission to trust what your body has been telling you all along.
What if I have more questions or need support?
I'm here for you. If questions come up as you move through the course, reach out anytime. I'm available to answer questions and also offer deeper one-to-one support if you find you want more personalized guidance on your journey back to yourself.
